Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support their high-impact Cyber Intelligence team in San Antonio, TX, to operate and secure critical cloud-based repositories in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Requirements
- Experience with Hadoop and Accumulo clusters
- Scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages
- Configuration management with Puppet (or similar tools)
- Designing and implementing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions
- Developing DoDAF-compliant architectures, including operational, technical standards, and system/service views
- Applying models, simulations, and prototyping to manage risk and lower development costs
- Managing system configurations throughout lifecycle (hardware, software, and documentation)
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining system health across distributed environments
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Sustaining and optimizing storage systems
- Automating tasks and managing configurations using tools like Puppet, Bash, and Python
- Providing after-hours support as needed for mission-critical issues
- Ensuring compliance with system security requirements
- Participating in system design and architecture discussions
Other
- 20+ years as a Linux System Administrator on projects of similar scope and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Active TS/SCI with current polygraph required
- Ability to plan and lead system administration efforts
- Proven ability to adapt in real time to global operational needs
