AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team developing and deploying the next generation of liquid cooling infrastructure for their data centers, aiming to provide operational and financial benefits critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers.
Requirements
- 7+ years in data center design and product development/HVAC design/related product development.
- 5+ years managing teams of 5-25 high performing associates with a proven track record of success and growth
- Deep understanding of liquid cooling infrastructure in data center environments
- Capable of managing a team where the problem, opportunity, and strategy may not be defined.
- Influences strategy; able to design the right workforce strategy to meet long-term targets and needs.
- Experience leading product design of mechanical products
- Know how products should be manufactured to ensure quality
Responsibilities
- Lead innovative, high-performance teams of technical associates under challenging timelines
- Demonstrate strong engineering judgment and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
- Apply data-driven and detail-oriented approaches to problem-solving
- Utilize extensive experience and knowledge in mechanical engineering, product development, and liquid cooling technology
- Collaborate with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers on new technology development and initiatives
- Build trust and develop relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., reliability, operations, design, compliance)
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering. Will also accept equivalent domain specific technical experience in lieu of a degree.
- Intermittent travel will be necessary and should be expected to be approximately 30% to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, vendors, and product validation tests.
- While most travel will be domestic, some international travel may be required.
