Perdue Foods aims to be the most trusted name in premium proteins by improving live operations, which involves understanding production processes, animal husbandry, and technical skills. The internship seeks to provide real-world experience to support these goals.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management or Business Administration.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to work for 8 hours or more in a stationary position or travel on a wet, moist, dry, greasy floors which may include metal or plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval.
- Ability to work from various types of ladders and/or stairs.
Responsibilities
- Develops an understanding of the Live functions to include production processes, animal husbandry and technical skills.
- Manage a project throughout the summer to improve overall live performance or address a business need relative to location.
- Rotation to include hatchery, feed mill, grow out, breeders and harvest facilities.
- Will perform legitimate roles and responsibilities as needed in the business unit.
- Will participate in learning events to develop an understanding of the Company, Agri Stats and soft skills training.
Other
- Must have a valid State Drivers License and be approved to drive a Company vehicle.
- 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well within a team setting, as well as independently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere.
