Tyson Foods is looking for a Live Operations Swine Intern to contribute to their success through innovative ideas and value creation, gaining exposure to the poultry live production industry and preparing them for future roles.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of software and programs that are related to the Internship position
Responsibilities
- Observe and learn how to ensure the area is running and producing at the greatest capacity possible while maintaining high quality.
- Observe and learn how to work with Maintenance and other resources to ensure the equipment is working properly and meets regulations.
- Help the service techs and or managers whenever called upon and perform any other duties as the need arises.
- Understand the interactions between growers, service techs, truck shop, hatchery, and feed mill.
- Learn all aspects of live production by working with the Team Members, techs and managers to learn how to promote a safe working environment and produce a quality product in a timely manner.
Other
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university with at least one year of school remaining.
- Students seeking a degree in Animal Science or other Agriculture related field are preferred.
- Previous work experience of any kind is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to work multiple shifts
- Be a motivated self-starter who has the desire to learn from others
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Currently enrolled student that is working towards a degree with a major that is within the Internship area
- An interest in job-related functions that pertain to this position
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
- Ability to multitask; motivated self-starter.
- Must have valid Driver’s License
