BASF is looking to leverage local market, customer, and crop expertise to design and execute impactful, customized trial plans aligned with the crop strategy and in coordination with the Regional Specialist in Product Development for their Watermelon seeds business.
Requirements
- Have hands-on experience in setting up and managing agricultural trials
- Hold deep agronomic knowledge relevant to the crops you’ll be working with
- Are familiar with productivity tools, as well as possessing a working knowledge of statistics and databases
- Have the capability to analyze and interpret data to support decision-making
- Exhibit a solid understanding of the local market and the ability to identify trends and opportunities
- Be commercially aware, with a talent for identifying business potential
- Are proficient in English; Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Defining variety value propositions and positioning by translating field and digital insights into actionable knowledge tailored to key customers and markets.
- Coordinating local trial plans in collaboration with the Regional Specialist Product Development to ensure impactful, efficient, and customized trials.
- Capturing, analyzing, and presenting high-quality data and customer feedback to support evaluations, proposals, and strategic decisions.
- Identifying market opportunities and trends by collaborating with local and regional stakeholders to shape proactive action plans.
- Providing expert technical support to sales and customer service teams, acting as a trusted reference for BASF Vegetables and Seeds varieties.
- Assist in training local teams to ensure high-quality trial execution, data collection, and customer feedback.
- Drive the creation of innovative growing concepts.
Other
- This role is a field based position based in the Southeastern US, preferably in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida.
- Traveling locally and regionally up to 30% overnight, with occasional international trips, to support field activities and customer engagement.
- Have a bachelor's degree (preferred) and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree and no additional years of experience; or a high school diploma and 6+ years of relevant experience
- Maintain a results-oriented focus with an emphasis on driving impact
