NASA is investing with industry partners to design, build, and fly the next generation of crewed/remote-piloted/autonomous lunar surface vehicles and Leidos is seeking a talented Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineer to support the LTV program as a hardware test Engineer
Requirements
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience with Microsoft suite of office software(PowerPoint, Word, & Excel)
- Knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools
- Experience with PTC Creo or SolidWorks CAD software
- Ability to track multiple tasks and prioritize work independently
- Self-motivation and quick learner to adapt to the broad array of subjects and issues encountered
Responsibilities
- Support engineering design and execution activities for hardware testing of LTV systems
- Perform research on test methods and test requirements to identify appropriate test scope and pass/fail metrics
- Develop conceptual CAD models and produce engineering drawings for test hardware/equipment
- Produce test plans and procedures for test events
- Prepare documents and deliverables for Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and post testing reports
- Work collaboratively with project team(s) to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and products across a broad range of applications
- Develop and execute trade studies for the LTV program
Other
- Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering field, from an ABET accredited college or university with completion prior to the start date
- Applicant must be a US Citizen
- Applicant must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to perform physical work such as lifting up to 30-lbs
