STR's Video & Image Understanding (VIU) Group needs to develop and apply deep learning or reinforcement learning techniques to solve challenging problems in computer vision, situational awareness, and autonomous control, addressing issues not yet tackled by existing research communities.
Requirements
- Applying machine learning algorithms, such as deep learning or reinforcement learning, to computer vision or autonomy problems.
- Experience in scientific software development, particularly with Python.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply deep learning or reinforcement learning techniques to solve challenging problems in computer vision, situational awareness and autonomous control.
- Adapt, extend and optimize innovative machine learning algorithms for solving challenging computer vision or autonomy problems.
- Collaborate with STR research engineers as well as academic researchers to develop practical and powerful machine learning and computer vision solutions.
- Evaluate and optimize machine learning performance on relevant and practical data sets.
Other
- Enrollment in an MS or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related technical discipline.
