Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning
- 5+ years of proposing and delivering innovations from original research or adopting cutting-edge ML research
- Expertise in machine learning modeling, infrastructure, and deployment
- Strong understanding of statistics, backend systems, batch processing, and real-time data processing
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and enhancement of recommendation algorithms for related pins, ensuring relevance and personalization
- Design, prototype, and implement innovative machine learning models and infrastructure solutions
- Establish and communicate a clear technical vision and strategic plan for the team
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize models for scalability and efficiency
- Partner with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to expand the impact of recommendation features
- Evaluate new research, tools, and frameworks to keep Pinterest at the cutting edge of ML technology
- Mentor and grow senior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning

- 3+ years of experience leading large-scale, mature recommendation systems teams in an end-to-end capacity
- Proven ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and define open-ended problems
- Ability to develop and drive a team roadmap from conception to delivery

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
