Waymo is looking to advance ultra-realistic autonomous vehicle simulations through the integration of Generative AI technologies to enhance the realism and performance of simulation systems, enabling more robust testing and training of autonomous vehicles.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in applied Deep Learning
- 7+ years of coding and system design skills
- 7+ years of experience solving complex production problems using state-of-the-art ML techniques
- 7+ years of experience transitioning research innovations into scalable production systems
- Expertise in Data Analysis or Data Science
- Direct experience with Generative AI, including multi-modal foundation models and diffusion models (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts within a world-class applied ML team to enhance autonomous vehicle simulation realism through GenAI technologies.
- Apply deep domain expertise in ML to develop innovative solutions that improve simulation fidelity and autonomous driving performance.
- Manage the full lifecycle of product development, from initial prototyping and experimentation to scaling and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform research concepts into scalable, production-grade systems.
- Design, implement, and optimize simulation models that accurately replicate real-world driving environments, including agents, weather conditions, and traffic scenarios.
- Leverage advanced ML techniques such as large foundation models and diffusion technology to increase the fidelity and steerability of simulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing system performance and implementing enhancements.
