Launch Potato is seeking to solve the problem of personalization at scale, tackling complex ML challenges such as cold start, real-time learning, and exploration/exploitation tradeoffs to drive user engagement and revenue growth
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale machine learning systems with a focus on personalization
- Deep expertise in building ML systems capable of serving billions of predictions in production environments
- Recognized industry contributions through patents, publications, or significant product impact
- Proven success in architecting ML platforms that enable scalable and efficient personalization solutions
- Extensive experience with deep learning, causal inference, multi-armed bandits, and graph-based models
- Track record of pioneering 0→1 innovation in personalization or recommender systems
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the company-wide personalization strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment across all ML teams
- Solve complex technical challenges related to cold start, real-time learning, and exploration/exploitation tradeoffs
- Design and implement advanced ML solutions utilizing cutting-edge methodologies such as graph neural networks, causal models, and bandit algorithms
- Create and enforce ML architecture patterns, design standards, and reusable infrastructure to accelerate development across teams
- Lead multi-quarter, cross-functional initiatives that enhance the impact of personalization on key business metrics
- Mentor and guide senior ML engineers, fostering technical excellence and team growth
- Represent Launch Potato externally through speaking engagements, open-source contributions, and publications

- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $250,000 annually, paid semi-monthly
