Zillow is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to develop advanced multimodal foundational AI technologies to enhance AI agent decision-making capabilities within Zillow's scalable infrastructure.
Requirements
- Recent experience in developing agent-based systems, multi-agent collaboration, or similar paradigms.
- Proficiency in dialogue systems capable of long conversations, multi-step reasoning, and context-rich decision-making.
- Experience deploying and scaling AI services handling hundreds of millions of daily interactions with high availability and low latency.
- Strong understanding of foundational Large Language Models (LLMs), reinforcement learning, AI planning, and natural language processing.
- Experience with frameworks like AgentSDK, LangChain, LangGraph, and related tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and develop multi-agent systems capable of autonomous, context-aware interactions using frameworks such as AgentSDK and LangChain.
- Leverage state-of-the-art generative AI models, including reasoning models and real-time voice APIs, to build and refine agentic prototypes.
- Convert prototypes into scalable, product-level AI skills and deploy them for end-user interactions.
- Maintain a focus on rapid iteration with a high quality bar, ensuring reliable production deployment.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices for agentic AI solutions and responsible AI usage.
- Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
- Stay updated on emerging paradigms in agentic AI to drive continuous product innovation.
Other
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in building large-scale, impactful AI solutions.
- Track record of publishing impactful research in top AI/ML venues is a plus.
