Requirements
- Proficiency in Python or Java, with the ability to develop production-quality code
- Experience with SQL, Spark, and cloud data environments such as AWS or Databricks
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling machine learning models for business applications using large datasets
- Knowledge of deep learning techniques and large language models (LLMs)
- Experience in SaaS, B2C, or enterprise/B2B environments
- Proven ability to solve ambiguous and complex problems with innovative solutions
- Strong understanding of data science concepts and machine learning algorithms
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms and models
- Construct scalable AI infrastructure and data pipelines to support company-wide AI initiatives
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate AI functionalities into various Atlassian products and services
- Conduct rigorous experimentation, model evaluation, and optimization to ensure high-quality outputs
- Provide mentorship and guidance to emerging machine learning engineers and data scientists
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques to solve business challenges
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels
Other
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of industry experience in data science or machine learning
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex data science concepts to diverse audiences
