Topstep is looking to improve its internal business operations, enhance its analytical understanding of the business and its users, and create useful features to enhance Topstep's product through the development and implementation of machine learning models.
Requirements
- Experience with SQL, python, and the ability to quickly learn new programming languages or concepts as the need arises.
- Experience building robust software, including test-driven development, logging, stress-testing, and monitoring.
- knowledge of electronic equipment, intermediate PC skills, knowledge of internet software and proficiency.
- Familiarity with Google Drive and Google Docs is a must.
- Computer experience/operation is required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- researching, developing, and implementing machine learning models
- create reports, dashboards, and/or data-centric tools
- contribute to the entire machine learning workflow. This workflow includes data gathering, cleaning, and validating phases, as well as exploration, analysis, feature engineering, training, model selection, monitoring, and fine-tuning.
- Find valuable business insights from Topstep's large and varied proprietary data.
- Collaborate with a fast-paced, research-oriented team to build and improve methods for detecting risk and fraud, understanding business dynamics, and simulating various aspects of the program.
- Build tools for stakeholders within Topstep that can improve their efficiency and/or their ability to gain insights from Topstep's data for themselves.
- Experience building robust software, including test-driven development, logging, stress-testing, and monitoring.
Other
- A Ph.D in mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, machine learning, or a related technical field
- Attention to detail and the ability to work on a collaborative research team
