FL105 is looking to develop a new AI-driven platform utilizing digital twins and simulation to move beyond current chatbot capabilities and create multi-modal systems that can reason, simulate, and adapt. The Machine Learning Scientist will contribute to building foundational psychological tools and technologies that enable users to maximize their potential.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP)
- Experience working with open-source large language models (e.g., LLaMA, Gemma, Qwen) and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
- Demonstrated ability to design, run, and interpret ML experiments in research or applied settings
- Proficiency in Python and tools for ML development, data processing, and evaluation
- Experience with multimodal deep learning systems is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Design and implement research programs to understand and emulate human behavior, personality, and emotional patterns using the state-of-the-art ML techniques
- Build scalable pipelines for data collection, labeling, training, and deployment of LLM-based systems
- Contribute to the development of novel methods for controlling large language models
- Support the integration of ML systems into real-world applications with measurable outcomes
- Stay current with advances in AI/ML and bring forward ideas that drive scientific and product innovation
- Collaborate with psychological experts and translate interdisciplinary insights into computational frameworks

Other
- Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with evolving goals and limited structure.
