At Seer we are searching for an experienced machine learning researcher to pioneer the development of foundational models for single-cell RNA sequencing and other complex biological datasets. In this role, you’ll work closely with computational biologists and fellow researchers to create cutting-edge AI approaches that uncover new biological insights and advance the future of cell-replacement therapies.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in machine learning, with expertise in transformers, deep learning, and large-scale data analysis (biological focus highly valued)
- Strong coding skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Proven success in developing and optimizing large-scale models from research to production
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, diffusion models, or multi-modal approaches
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and refine large-scale models for single-cell and multi-omics data
- Partner with biologists to ensure outputs are interpretable and scientifically meaningful
- Innovate new deep learning methods, including transformer-based and other advanced architectures
- Build scalable training and inference pipelines capable of handling massive biological datasets
Other
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or related field
- A track record of independent research and a passion for applying AI to transform biology and healthcare
- PhD with an excellent publication record in machine learning or computational biology
- Deep expertise in biological research, especially single-cell RNA sequencing
- Experience thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments with a proactive, self-directed mindset
