Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to assure that the facility and production equipment are properly maintained and designed to safely perform specified tasks in a cost-effective manner.
Requirements
- Engineering principles and fundamentals - hydraulics, pneumatics, thermodynamics, electronics, etc.
- Capital project (ACE) justification process
- General understanding of the hourly payroll system, Functional understanding of hourly personnel practices
- Basic industrial engineering concepts
- Computer – Microsoft Office, JD Edwards, CMMS, Computer Assisted Design, FoxPro, etc.
- Basic understanding of general business principles (marketing, sales, cost accounting, etc.)
- Basic understanding of business law, especially as it relates to vendor contracts
Responsibilities
- Departmental management - Provides leadership and direction for the plant's maintenance and engineering functions.
- Supervision - Directly supervises hourly maintenance mechanics and develop/modify systems to enhance productivity and/or reduce maintenance downtime/costs.
- Project management/engineering - Coordinates specification, planning, justification and execution of capital projects and major maintenance activities.
- Plant engineering expert - Serves as resident professional engineer advising departmental staff, the plant manager, other departmental managers, line supervisors and other plant personnel in matters relating to equipment design and functioning.
- Identification, justification, and execution of capital projects
- Monitoring of machine functioning to include repair/downtime history and planning/execution of necessary/cost effective preventative maintenance activities
- Maintenance of stock room inventory that adequately reflects the parts needs of the operation in a cost effective manner
Other
- A bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred but not required
- 5 years of related engineering and/or maintenance experience which includes in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Approximately 60% of time is spent in office or typical business atmosphere. 40% of time is on the factory floor (or around physical facilities)
- Core hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The operation runs 24 hours/day and sometimes on weekends
- Routine work beyond 40 40-hour week is necessary, normally about 50-55 hours per week
