D.A. Davidson Companies' Managed Assets Research Department needs to support its firm's advisors and their clients by developing and maintaining recommendations across mutual funds, ETFs, and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), and managing asset allocation portfolios. The Research Associate will play a vital role in delivering high-level service and quality investment solutions.
Requirements
- Progress toward, or desire to pursue, the CFA or CAIA charter designation also viewed positively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, and/or Morningstar Direct a significant plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide research and marketing support, as needed, to the department’s director and broader team.
- Assist in the continued development of the research team’s communications process and procedures.
- Proofreading/editing text, creating supporting charts & tables, and ultimately distributing presentations and reports through different mediums.
- Maintaining and developing investment reports and note templates.
- Maintain and continue to develop the Managed Assets Research intranet site, internal department databases, and other communications.
- Keeping organized files for our internal and external publications and other department activities, as appropriate.
- Respond to frequent ad hoc research requests from financial advisors, typically by phone and/or email.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, marketing or related field required.
- Series 7 & 65/66, or willingness to obtain.
- 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in an environment of working with financial advisors.
- Strong writing and proofreading skills.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with excellent organizational skills.
- Articulate, confident, driven professional with the ability to work well independently, and as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment.
