The Department of Human Services (DHS), Family Services Administration (FSA), Youth Services Division (YSD) is looking to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its Truancy Pilot Program by analyzing current and proposed operating programs and developing plans to achieve quality improvement goals.

Requirements

  • Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
  • To be creditable, applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an Analyst to management to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency's development programs and operations.
  • Works in tandem with the staff of various Divisions in the coordination of agency developmental projects.
  • Plans projects and programs related to the design and redesign, and improvement of agency processes and programs.
  • Determines if programs and projects are operating within the scope of the goals and objectives, and are consistent with identified strategic business plans, policies, business strategies and related activities in the District.
  • Analyzes and interprets program data for management staff; assists in the data quality assurance review process and makes recommendations for procedural changes; and identifies potential problems in case processing and program administration.
  • Develops data assessments and processes quality analysis of assigned projects and prepares for surveillance reviews, field evaluations, and assessments to ensure compliance with program performance management requirements.
  • Conducts trend analyses using quantitative and qualitative data related to program functions and activities and makes recommendations for the development of additional or different approaches to program and service delivery.

Other

  • The incumbent will work on strategic planning, operations, policy and programmatic issues.
  • The incumbent is responsible for providing recommendations to resolve problems affecting agency's procedures, policies, and programs; and actively participates in decision-making meetings.
  • The incumbent is expected to exercise a high degree of independence within the bounds of their role as they carry out important functions with-in FSA.
  • Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday; 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM
  • This position has been designated as Emergency. Employees occupying positions designated as Emergency are required to: Provide advice, recommendations, and/or specific functional support necessary for the continuity of operations during a declared emergency.
