The RBC Bank Controls Testing and Monitoring team needs to execute a controls testing program for the 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) business units, ensuring compliance with enterprise frameworks and mitigating key risks.
Requirements
- Proficiency and experience in the financial services industry working with controls testing.
- Strong presentation skills and technologically self-sufficient in MS Office Suite (i.e. Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Accurately defines problems and identifies relevant factors while objectively considering alternatives and anticipating the client impact of possible solutions.
- Proficiency and experience working with various RBC Bank systems/applications
- Understanding of core technology (applications and infrastructure) as evidenced by external courses or professional certification.
- Experience with operational risk management.
Responsibilities
- Effectively executes design and operating effectiveness testing over technology, data management/governance and other operational controls deemed appropriate to mitigate key risks of the unit.
- Developing test steps and documenting the results of the testing
- Escalating concerns to business management as well as the Senior Manager, Controls Testing and Director, Controls Testing and Monitoring.
- Identifies control gaps and determines its underlying root causes with the support of the business unit.
- Tracking action plans and executing remediation testing to address deficiencies.
- Works collaboratively to review new controls and procedures, to support their successful implementation within areas of control responsibility.
- Works to ensure management reporting and automation is utilized to its fullest extent and makes recommendations for control changes as processes automate.
