Nissan Americas is looking to solve customs regulatory compliance and trade cost reduction problems at their headquarters in Franklin, TN

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of customs and trade regulations, compliance, operations, strategy, and cost reduction
  • Knowledge of Customs Valuation, Harmonized System (Schedule B) classification, and other customs/import related compliance matters under US law
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), ACE Portal, and Automated Broker Interface (ABI)
  • US Customs Broker’s License in good standing with US Customs and Border Protection
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and inventory control systems a plus
  • Five or more years of related professional experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops/manages trade compliance programs and supporting procedures for tariff classification, customs valuation, reconciliation, duty drawback and duty mitigation compliance
  • Identifies, applies, and manages use of available US customs administrative and corrective procedures to minimize NNA’s exposure to penalties or loss of import privileges
  • Responsible for maintenance of and regulatory compliance for NNA’s part database as part of a larger Integrated Global Trade Management system
  • Manages CTPAT Trade Compliance program
  • Manages internal compliance reviews to monitor regulatory compliance, develops corrective departmental and cross-functional procedures
  • Manages daily, periodic, and annual audits of customs transactions to ensure compliance with US laws and regulations
  • Develops and delivers corporate import and other trade compliance training to ensure consistent execution of documented procedures

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree, in international trade, accounting, or other related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Two or more years in a trade compliance supervisory position for an automotive, manufacturing, or other complex industry
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire
  • Must pass drug and background screenings in accordance with Nissan policies and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
