The Manager, Data Engineering is responsible for providing strategic leadership, management, and direction in the engineering, architecture, development, and implementation of innovative data solutions within Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks environments. Requirements
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and related data tools
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization)
- Excellent working knowledge of enterprise data architecture and engineering principles
- Strong understanding of data quality concepts (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
- Solid understanding of data management and governance concepts, especially data quality and metadata management
- IT architecture design and implementation (infrastructure or application development)
- Effective technical programming, analysis, and specification skills
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic hands-on leadership, management, and direction to a team of data engineering professionals
- Develop strategy and high-level implementation plans for the delivery of new technology
- Oversee and systematize engineering performance metrics, processes, and tools
- Accountable and responsible for the engineering success of specific data governance engineering programs (e.g. Metadata and Cataloging Program, Data Quality Program)
- Set vision and direction for the data engineering department
- Systematically evaluate currently deployed services; develop and manage plans to optimize delivery and support mechanisms
- Regularly assess the associated technology platforms to ensure that the platforms meet the required standards for reliability, availability, security, cost and performance, business value justification, regulatory compliance, and architecture

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of IT Lead or Management experience is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant IT experience is required
- Strong leadership, management skills and project management skills required
