Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers working on communications systems for advanced aircraft, ensuring mission-enabling solutions for global security.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++, Object Oriented programming, and software lifecycle processes
- Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applications
- Experience with RTOS designs and implementing secure software for embedded systems
- Experience with ARM architecture and peripherals
- Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and the Agile software development process
- Experience with Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet)
- Experience with Networking protocols (IPSec, TLS)
Responsibilities
- lead a section of approximately 10-15 software engineers working within the San Diego Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Software and Digital Technologies (SWDT) department
- lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies
- coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees
- evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments
- assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary
- be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on programs involving communications systems within our F-35, F-22, CNI Production, Advanced Communications, or Small Forms Factors operating units (OU)
- Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes.
