Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is seeking a Facility Engineering Manager to provide management and leadership to the Facility Engineering teams supporting Device Assembly Facility (DAF) operations and infrastructure projects, ensuring the facility is operated in a fully compliant manner and providing a safe location for National Weapons Laboratories’ program experiments.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) Orders DOE O 422.1, “Conduct of Operations,” 10 CFR 830 Sub Parts A and B, DOE O 425.1D, “Verification of Readiness to Startup or Restart Nuclear Facilities,” DOE O 420.1C, “Facility Safety,” and DOE Standard DOE-STD-1073, Configuration Management” is preferred.
- Experience working with requirements-based systems.
- Experience in managing personnel, performing workload distribution, and execution of the work.
- Calculus-based (STEM) degree highly preferred.
- At least 4 years in nuclear operations, maintenance or design at a nuclear facility where radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized highly preferred.
- Skilled in working and communicating effectively with managers of other functional organizations (e.g., Engineering, Construction, Project Management, and the National Weapons Laboratories).
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the DAF Facility engineering team in support of Facility Operations.
- Manage engineering functions that directly support overall operation of the DAF Facility on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure the DAF facility is operated in a fully compliant manner per the U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Field Office (NNSA/NFO)-approved Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirements.
- Provide engineering support to ensure a safe location for National Weapons Laboratories’ program experiments.
- Establishes strategic goals for the facility operations, evaluating trends and outcomes.
- Accomplish financial objectives by prioritizing facility modifications and enhancements.
- Prepares an annual facility engineering budget, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 14 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
- U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age, is required to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
