L3Harris is looking for a lead flight test engineer to support their portfolio of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience Working knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems
- 3+ years’ experience with FAA and ICAO regulations pertaining to UAS and VFR/IFR flight planning.
- 3+ years’ experience interfacing with test and training ranges, coordinating support equipment and service requests for test events.
- Experience using some or all of the following: NGA mapping products, Google Earth Pro, Foreflight, commercial UAS mission planning software (ArduPilot, Piccolo).
- Experience coordinating customer demonstration and test events.
- FAA Pilot License (Private or above).
- Cost Account Management (CAM) experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in manufacturing, lab and flight test (field) environments
- Coordination with program leadership and engineering disciplines to establish customer driven flight test objectives.
- Generating comprehensive test briefings, plans, quick looks and reports for stakeholders
- Communicating with various customers and flight test ranges to coordinate test events
- Leading teams of engineers made up of various disciplines in a field environment to achieve test objectives.
- Functionally manage a team of flight test engineers, managing team hiring, assignments, performance reviews
- Proposal work, including generating and reviewing Basis of Estimate (BOE) bids.
Other
- Requires in-depth knowledge of UAS.
- Continental United States (CONUS) and/or Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) travel required.
- Travel within CONUS and/or OCONUS up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted or 80 lbs. as part of a two-person team.
- Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance.
