Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps clients navigate critical moments and transformational initiatives, including M&A, by providing advisory services and end-to-end support to avoid financial pitfalls and implement practical solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing large datasets
- Experience analyzing or managing accounting, financial or transactional data
- Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics and relational database concepts
- Experience designing and storytelling via data visualization (examples include but not limited to Tableau, Power BI, Excel Charts, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of data structures and database design
- Knowledge of how to use programming languages for data analyses: SQL, Python, R or other languages.
- Statistical methods in support of data analysis
Responsibilities
- Gathering, analyzing, validating, and normalizing transactional data (e.g., sales and inventory data) to develop and test hypotheses for a given M&A deal.
- Working as part of cross-functional teams providing financial, accounting, operational and commercial due diligence, bringing your skills to the M&A deal to manage and analyze the data, and utilize your visual analytics skills to tell a compelling story of our findings.
- Using business intelligence tools and data analytic skillset to provide meaningful insights to our clients that are crucial to their deal investment hypothesis.
- Leveraging client service skillset directly interacting with C-suite and private equity executives providing advice on some of the most critical aspects of the M&A transaction.
- Coordinate with client business and IT personnel to identify, collect and validate transactional and operational data
- Design and develop visualizations and dashboards that deliver crucial financial and operational buy and sell-side insights
- Analyze financial & key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliers
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar
- Strong understanding of multiple business cycles (examples include but not limited to Order-to-cash revenue cycle, procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrable evidence of effective team leadership, client relationship development, project management and engagement management, preferably in a client service setting
- Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
