Cardinal Health is looking to solve the problem of deeply understanding user needs and uncovering complex customer struggles in the healthcare space, which is exploding with new service models, technologies, and a growing demand for open access to health information.
Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience conducting research to inform digital and non-digital strategies/products/services utilizing a human-centered approach preferred.
- 4+ years’ directly leading UX/user research professionals with a proven track record of hiring, managing, and retaining top talent.
- Experience leading, advocating for, and researching within a modern product/service design lifecycle.
- Demonstrable, repeatable work in the discipline, including some combination of generative research, service blueprinting, workshop facilitation, usability testing, heuristic evaluation.
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams/disciplines including product management, marketing, sales, and engineering.
- Significant understanding of UX best practices and how research contributes to a complex, multi-faceted organization.
- Experience defining and measuring goals and strategies at an individual and team level in service of professional growth, work efficiency, and practice maturity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of user researchers, experience strategists, service designers, and usability specialists.
- Oversee the maturity of research operations, including evolving research processes, recruitment, and toolkits to ensure efficient practices and high-quality, actionable insights.
- Uphold the continuous improvement of research methodologies/approaches so Product Experience remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
- Educate, demonstrate, and promote research methodologies, best practices, and resulting business value through workshops, training sessions, and other forms of engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, peer leaders, and internal clients to foster trust, drive collaboration, manage expectations, and increase demand.
- Actively seek out new research opportunities through networking across different business units, understanding their needs, and identifying areas where research could add value.
- Oversee the creation of project proposals, ensuring they are accurate, well-written, contain appropriate methodologies for the objectives, and feasible given available resources and timelines.
Other
- BS/MS degree in human factors, design, psychology, sociology, or relevant experience preferred.
- Some travel expected.
- 3+ years in healthcare for relevant segments a plus — e.g. consumer, pharmacy, medical, health plans, logistics, etc.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
