Blackhawk Network is seeking to ensure the reliability, performance, and visibility of its platform services by hiring a Manager of Platform Engineering to lead teams responsible for Observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Managed File Transfer (MFT).
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, site reliability, or infrastructure roles, with 2+ years in a people management capacity.
- Proven experience managing observability platforms and SRE practices in a large-scale environment.
- Strong understanding of Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems and secure data exchange protocols.
- Experience working with AWS infrastructure and services.
- Experience in technical education, onboarding, or internal enablement programs.
- Familiarity with incident management, monitoring strategy, and compliance frameworks.
- Background in scripting or automation for platform operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional global team of engineers specializing in MFT, Observability, and SRE
- Define and drive the strategic roadmap for platform reliability, monitoring, and secure data transfer.
- Oversee the implementation and evolution of observability platforms including New Relic, Splunk, and Grafana
- Guide the team in developing best practices for metrics, logging, and tracing, ensuring high system visibility and actionable insights.
- Partner with engineering teams to educate and support them in adopting observability and reliability standards across the software lifecycle.
- Manage the secure and reliable operation of MFT services, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to maintain robust and auditable file transfer processes.
