Requirements
- Deep understanding of SRE principles, incident management, and observability.
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms (e.g., New Relic, DataDog, SumoLogic).
- Proficiency in modern programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, .NET, SQL) and IaC practices.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery.
- Proven success leading technical teams in SaaS or cloud-native environments.
- 7+ years of experience in SRE, AppOps, or related roles, including 4+ years in a leadership capacity.
Responsibilities
- Drives the evolution of observability practices, enhancing MELT (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) effectiveness.
- Maintains and optimizes observability tools (e.g., New Relic, DataDog, SumoLogic) for proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Defines and tracks KPIs related to system reliability, incident response, and platform health.
- Ensures the operational readiness and performance of production applications, with a focus on high availability and minimal disruption.
- Collaborates with Engineering and QA teams to ensure reliable deployments, rollbacks, and release readiness.
- Standardizes and improves monitoring, alerting, and logging practices across environments.
- Leads incident response for application-level issues, coordinating across teams for timely resolution.
Other
- Leads and mentors SRE team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Reviews and approves RCAs for customer delivery, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational standards.
- Partners with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to align operational standards with business goals.
- Supports team development through coaching, training, and performance feedback. This includes leading all annual performance review and compensation processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
