Myriad Genetics is looking to transform how genetic test results are built, delivered, and integrated across internal and external healthcare systems, specifically in the areas of clinical reporting and interoperability solutions.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of professional Python experience with strong backend development focus (preferably FastAPI or django)
  • Experience in system, serverless and cloud architecture (AWS, k8s)
  • Production data pipelines
  • Enterprise software engineering
  • Complex technical landscapes
  • Prior success with data exchange standards (FHIR preferred) or healthcare integrations
  • Some experience working in life sciences and ideally have a genetics background of some kind

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Mentor: Hire, manage, motivate, and mentor a small team of talented engineers.
  • Own Technical Direction: Architect and implement FHIR data pipelines to support report integrations and clinical workflows.
  • Hands-On Development: Contribute directly on report integrations backend reporting pipelines for Prenatal testing.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product managers, EMR engineers, and clinical stakeholders to deliver scalable integrations.
  • Drive Interoperability: Champion Myriad’s FHIR migration strategy across the company and improve EMR integration patterns.
  • Ensure Quality: Define technical specifications, enforce best practices in CI/CD, automated testing pipelines to reduce manual testing for integrations, and ship high quality code.
  • Shield and Prioritize: Focus the team on high-impact work and remove distractions.
