Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of application software engineers, ensuring program execution and engineering excellence within communications systems for the F-35, F-22, CNI Production, Advanced Communications, or Small Forms Factors operating units.
Requirements
- object orientated programming experience in C++/Java/LabVIEW
- Familiarity with other engineering disciplines including manufacturing, test, systems, quality, and electrical
- Candidate must have hands on experience with DoD communications systems
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, XML, Multi-threaded Linux Environment
- Familiar with OMS/UCI infrastructure
- Experience with avionic data buses, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429
- Experience with reliable UDP technologies
Responsibilities
- lead a section of approximately 10-15 application software engineers
- lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies
- coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees
- evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments
- assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary
- support the creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes
- be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on programs involving communications systems within our F-35, F-22, CNI Production, Advanced Communications, or Small Forms Factors operating units
