Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering 1 to lead a team of software engineers working on the Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio, which involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). The role requires managing software development lifecycles, ensuring quality and timeliness, and overseeing budgets and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM discipline, and 5 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field and 1 years of related technical experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  • Exceptional leadership skills in order to coordinate collaboration across engineering teams.
  • Full knowledge of software development lifecycle and extensive technical expertise.
  • Proven interaction in a distributed team environment.
  • Strong background in software testing, troubleshooting, and the process of the Software Review Board.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers performing direct work on multiple programs
  • Work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, software development, and management professionals to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization’s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems.
  • Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and create work assignments for indirect tasking.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate).
  • Experience with performing software development using agile methodologies.
