Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Software Functional Manager for the Global Surveillance family of programs located in Melbourne, FL. This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as the individual's program responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development.
- Must be familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle and Agile software development.
- Prior lead experience in a team environment.
- In-depth working knowledge and experience with C/C++, Java, or other OOP languages.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
- Experience with configuration management using industry standard tools and processes.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret DoD Security clearance is required to start.
Responsibilities
- participate in the full life cycle of software development to include C++ coding to NGAS and Global Surveillance coding standards, unit testing and software integration testing, software requirements and design documentation and support for program reviews.
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Leads Engineering teams with program execution
- Mentor Engineers on all phases of the Program
- Creates, reviews, and maintains critical documentation
- Supports the software department, software center, and software sector in their day-to-day activities
