Lark Health is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a full-stack team responsible for the primary mobile application experience, content management systems, and backend services that process data from users and IoT devices, aiming to scale and improve cardiometabolic care.
Requirements
- Experience leading and coaching a team of product engineers with varying levels of expertise, preferably in a full-stack environment that includes both backend and mobile development.
- A strong and current understanding of the team's technical domain; familiarity with technologies like NodeJS, Typescript, React (web or mobile), Java or Kotlin, and cloud platforms like AWS is essential.
- Proven ability to work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to create optimal solutions and trade-offs.
- Expertise in agile methodologies, including sprint planning and facilitating effective team meetings such as retrospectives and stand-ups.
- Experience with systems that ingest and process data from IoT devices.
- Experience with ReactNative, Go, Kubernetes, and/or Docker.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance rules in the context of software engineering and data management.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the team's staff engineers, guide sound technical decisions that balance immediate project needs with long-term system maintainability and scalability.
- Unblock team members facing technical challenges across a diverse stack including backend (NodeJS, Typescript, Go, Java) and mobile (React Native, Native SDKs) systems.
- Champion a culture of ownership and accountability, ensuring the team consistently adheres to engineering best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
- Continuously seek and identify opportunities to improve team processes, tools, and workflows to enhance productivity and quality.
- Contribute to a positive and constructive engineering culture by promoting knowledge sharing within and beyond the team.
- Guide team members in setting challenging yet achievable goals and mentor engineers at all levels.
- Ensure the team consistently adheres to engineering best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
