Vestmark is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team in designing, developing, and delivering modern web applications, managing diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams building scalable web applications.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and architecture.
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or similar web application frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and architectural direction for application development, ensuring quality and performance across the stack.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to manage the software development lifecycle from planning to production.
- Stay close to the code to provide guidance, unblock teams, and uphold engineering standards.
- Build, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation.
- Translate technical discussions for business stakeholders and ensure alignment on goals and priorities.
Other
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team dynamics and stakeholder engagement.
- This role operates in a hybrid work model based out of One Kendall Square, Cambridge MA or Wakefield, MA.
