Sony Engagement Platform Services (SEPS) is building the next-generation platform to power fan connections with content and creators across Sony's entertainment ecosystem, aiming to unlock meaningful, data-driven engagement and drive new revenue opportunities through a robust ecosystem of partners and creators.

Requirements

  • Overall experience of at least 6 years in the software development industry
  • At least 2 years of people management experience, with experience managing multiple teams or one larger team
  • Able to manage, mentor, and empower teams, including other people managers
  • Proven leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying both internal business applications and highly available services
  • Ability to advise and influence technical discussions and decisions.
  • Experience with agile development practices emphasizing continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservices

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-stack development efforts, fostering a productive and collaborative engineering environment.
  • Plays a key part in scaling team capabilities and engineering excellence, while ensuring seamless platform integration across Sony Electronics, Sony Pictures, Sony Sports, and other Sony operating companies.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a growing team of engineers to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with strategic business goals and outcomes.
  • Drive the successful delivery of multiple cross-platform projects by guiding teams in effective estimation, planning, and iterative value delivery.
  • Execute and iterate on the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring initiatives remain focused, achievable, and value-driven.
  • Champion change and continuous improvement, identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance team performance, processes, and outcomes.
  • Operate with autonomy and ownership in a large, distributed environment, consistently delivering results while managing complexity and ambiguity.
