LexisNexis Legal & Professional is looking to hire a leading Engineer to provide leadership, management, direction, and vision to software engineers and/or development employees to support, run, and change activities in the software development life cycle for their cutting-edge products.
Requirements
- Be expert in development languages, including JAVA_J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C_C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .NET
- Be very proficient in database technology, design and manipulation, optimization, and best practice
- Have substantial Software Engineering experience
- Have 10+ years of Software Development experience
- Have experience in staff resourcing and management, including partnering and offshoring resourcing models
- Have excellent knowledge and experience in project planning and management tools
Responsibilities
- Writing advanced complex code for computer systems, acting as a senior source of expertise, performing reviews, and leading development
- Recommending technical strategy and direction across functional area, participating in the development and evolution of architecture
- Working directly with customers and end-users, and providing design input across a product
- Acting as an acknowledged go-to person on coding and technical issues
- Partnering with and leading large offshore resources to solving complex business needs, serving as the technical contact
- Managing your team, including interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, and giving appropriate feedback
- Have great experience in code reviews and development approaches
Other
- Have 4+ years of Software and People Management experience
- Be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills when dealing with multiple priorities, able to think analytically
- Be a natural problem-solver and able to take a lead in collaborating to resolve issues
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly to a wide audience
- Have a BS degree in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent experience
