NBCUniversal is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Brand Engineering team, a pivotal role in shaping the digital infrastructure that powers some of the world’s most iconic film and television brands. You’ll lead a team of talented engineers and contractors, partner closely with stakeholders across film and television marketing, and drive execution of initiatives that support websites, apps, and other consumer-facing digital platforms.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Deep knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Puppet).
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and migration from EC2 to containerized workloads.
- Familiarity with Drupal frameworks and CDN management (Akamai, Cloudflare).
- Experience with observability and security tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, Wiz, Snyk).
- Familiarity with security remediation workflows and compliance practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee AWS infrastructure design, development, and operations using automation, infrastructure-as-code, and best practices.
- Guide modernization efforts including migration from EC2 to containerized platforms, infrastructure optimization, and deployment enablement.
- Champion privacy and security by design, embedding best practices and ensuring compliance with enterprise and industry standards.
- Ensure proactive monitoring, observability, and alerting using CloudWatch, Datadog, and related tools.
- Promote high standards of engineering quality, including code reviews, automated testing practices, and documentation.
- Oversee adoption and operation of DevOps pipelines using GitHub Actions, Puppet, and related tooling.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and implement chargeback models for brand-aligned engineering effort.

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers (FTEs and contractors), fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs.
- Own backlog prioritization, capacity planning, and delivery of planned and unplanned work.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and enterprise technology teams to ensure business goals are achieved.
