Figma is looking to expand its Leadership team within its Infrastructure organization to manage and improve its file and asset operations, as well as its core build, test, and workflow systems. The goal is to ensure these systems are secure, efficient, scalable, and enhance developer productivity and velocity across the company.
Requirements
- Experience working on internal product infrastructure teams with many internal customers
- Experience growing and extending internal platforms, with an emphasis on customer experience, and developer velocity
- Experience managing and leading high output engineering teams
- Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team
- Proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers
- Demonstrated experience with understanding the needs of our internal client teams and aligning roadmap to drive maximum business impact
Responsibilities
- Manage, support and develop a team of engineers, including staff level engineers, who design and build scalable services to power Figma’s infrastructure
- Drive the execution of strategic initiatives, enhancing Figma’s core infrastructure supporting Files and associated media
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects
- Integrate new features and optimize existing systems, building and extending our infrastructure to support a diverse set of products and features
- Tackle challenges such as expanding data locality, implementing enterprise-grade encryption solutions, and enhancing content management systems
- Improve our Bazel-based build system used by a variety of services
- Iterate on our cloud-based development environment, making our CI system faster & more reliable, and creating internal tools to make engineering workflows more efficient

- If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.
- Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
- For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
