Solipsys, Managed by Collins Aerospace, is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to drive the design, architecture, and development of new software systems and products, focusing on integrated Network Centric Warfare solutions, Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.
Requirements
- Must have at least 8 years experience with C++ and/or Java.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval.
- Direct hands on individual experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgresql, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Typescript, HTML/CSS, among many other programming languages and related technologies.
- Experience with Container Orchestration implementation such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
- Experience with managing cyber security processes including vulnerability assessments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, architecture, and development of critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with ability to coordinate the activities of multiple engineers working on a wide range of programs, ensuring successful technical execution and delivery of solutions for the customer.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies to increase software development productivity and support strategic product development
- Support proposal development, including technical solution, price, and schedule content.
- Execute in direct technical leadership roles on various programs.
- Be responsible for a group of software engineers working on various internal and external programs.
- Writing and developing code using programming languages and related technologies such as Java, C++, Angular, GraphQL, REST, KafKa, and Typescript (among many others).

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Be adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience.
- Empower engineering staff to excel by ensuring proper training, removing barriers, providing constructive feedback, as well as ensuring proper execution of organizational and department policies and procedures.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
