Baxter is seeking a leader to drive the development of cutting-edge software solutions for their Novum IQ Infusion Platform, aiming to transform the medical devices and therapies business segment by enabling clinicians to provide their best care to patients and safely deliver medications at the bedside.
Requirements
- Experience working with development tools for requirements management, issue management tracking, and a solid technical understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., SDLC, IEC 62304, Agile).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and optimization of software and systems for our infusion pump platform, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and safety standards for medical devices.
- Develop and manage software requirements and risk management for software projects, ensuring that software and systems meet clinical and user needs.
- Identify technical risks throughout the product development lifecycle and drive cross-functional mitigations to those risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving excellence in software development.

- Recruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, driving a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion an Agile development culture within the team, advocating for the benefits of Agile methodologies and promoting the adoption and integration of Agile practices across the software engineering team.
- Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings, presentations, and other communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve outstanding performance, taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
- Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field, with 8+ years of related experience.
- Experience: Managing technical teams in the development of medical device software, with a demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for the development of medical devices.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as project management tools.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders, handle competing priorities, and maintain high energy and drive team engagement.
