Baxter is looking to hire a Manager, Software Systems Engineering to lead a team responsible for developing cutting-edge software solutions for their Novum IQ Infusion Platform, aiming to transform the medical devices and therapies business segment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with development tools for requirements management, issue management tracking, and a solid technical understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., SDLC, IEC 62304, Agile).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and optimization of software and systems for our infusion pump platform, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and safety standards for medical devices.
  • Develop and manage software requirements and risk management for software projects, ensuring that software and systems meet clinical and user needs.
  • Identify technical risks throughout the product development lifecycle and drive cross-functional mitigations to those risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving excellence in software development.

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, driving a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion an Agile development culture within the team, advocating for the benefits of Agile methodologies and promoting the adoption and integration of Agile practices across the software engineering team.
  • Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings, presentations, and other communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve outstanding performance, taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • In a relevant field, with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Managing technical teams in the development of medical device software, with a demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for the development of medical devices.
  • Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as project management tools.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders, handle competing priorities, and maintain high energy and drive team engagement.
