Requirements
- Direct experience in product sustainability with a history of proven success.
- Experience innovating within a corporation or creating and establishing successful new programs.
- Knowledge of various engineering and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Challenges the status quo, proven track record of inspiring change and teaching/motivating individuals to develop & implement new ways of thinking and doing business.
- High-level of personal accountability.
- Strong communicator - strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills - able to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Creative mind and problem solver – someone who is constantly looking for opportunities to improve the initiatives of which they are a part.
Responsibilities
- Assess the organization’s current sustainability performance with regards to product goals and identify and prioritize key sustainability issues.
- Ensure compliance with global sustainability requirements (PPWR, California Climate Bill, JP Packaging Positive List, Canadian Federal Plastics Registry Reporting, etc)
- Annual RSPO and Carbon accounting
- Strategize our many methods of reporting on sustainability, both with internal partners as well as external reporting.
- Conduct sustainability-related risk assessments.
- Offer expertise and support for initiatives to reduce company-wide resource consumption and waste generation.
- Build effective partnerships with external organizations to support sustainability efforts.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience with previous direct (hands-on) Quality Leadership experience in a supervisory role.
- Ability to lead employees to assure company goals and results are met.
- Consistent track record in establishing deep and lasting customer and supplier relationships.
- High-level of personal accountability.
