Newport News Shipbuilding is looking to solve the problem of ensuring compliance with specifications for their products through effective testing and inspection.
Requirements
- Knowledge of MT/PT/ET/VT inspection processes and principles
- Working level knowledge of shipbuilding construction processes across VCS, CLB, FS and CNC programs
- Considerable knowledge of the safety, security, and execution requirements for NDT
- Working level knowledge of EVMS
- Fundamental Quality Control and Quality Assurance principles
- Ability to manage direct and indirect budgets
- Demonstrated ability to build teams with internal/external customers and within their own organization
Responsibilities
- Supervises employees who test and/or inspect products to determine compliance with specifications
- Manages direct and indirect budgets
- Builds teams with internal/external customers and within their own organization
- Executes safety, security, and execution requirements for NDT
- Applies fundamental Quality Control and Quality Assurance principles
- Utilizes EVMS to manage budgets and resources
- Oversees inspection processes and principles, including MT/PT/ET/VT
Other
- US Citizenship Required for this Position
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 6 years of applicable technical experience
- 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 2 years as a Supervisor Test Inspection 1 or equivalent position plus a minimum of 8 years related non-exempt experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree and experience
