Collins Aerospace is looking to solve complex problems in the aerospace and defense industry by hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Electrical Co-Op to work on process layout, manufacturing processes, and product quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline such as Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace and Electrical Engineering
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Knowledge of machine or equipment design, factory and production conditions
  • Understanding of statistical process control techniques
  • Familiarity with test equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to analyze data and perform root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product quality improvement methods

Responsibilities

  • Designs and plans process Layout for assembly and materials handling.
  • Participates and may help plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
  • Assist in development of manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.
  • Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
  • Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday, for the duration of the co-op session
  • Must be willing to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity
