Collins Aerospace is looking to solve complex problems in the aerospace and defense industry by hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Electrical Co-Op to work on process layout, manufacturing processes, and product quality improvement.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline such as Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace and Electrical Engineering
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Knowledge of machine or equipment design, factory and production conditions
- Understanding of statistical process control techniques
- Familiarity with test equipment and manufacturing processes
- Ability to analyze data and perform root cause analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product quality improvement methods
Responsibilities
- Designs and plans process Layout for assembly and materials handling.
- Participates and may help plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
- Assist in development of manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
- Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.
- Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
- Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
- Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities

- Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday, for the duration of the co-op session
- Must be willing to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity
