Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to assist in optimizing manufacturing operations and driving operational excellence for their client in Northford, CT.
Requirements
- Experience or coursework related to manufacturing engineering or process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with engineering software tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining standard work documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop reports to track manufacturing performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Learn and understand various manufacturing processes to contribute effectively to the team.
Other
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering or technology.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced coursework or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Internship experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- This position requires the use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
