The Manager, Engineering – Manufacturing role at Phoenix Contact is looking to solve the business problem of overseeing manufacturing engineering operations, strategic planning, and team development to ensure alignment with organizational goals through process optimization, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency with 2D Drawings and 3D Modeling
- Must understand the concept of Continuous Improvement/Lean
- Must have expert knowledge of manufacturing techniques
- Understand and be able to implement drawings according to the Engineering Drawings specification (PI H-3-73002)
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team to support production goals and strategic initiatives
- Oversee troubleshooting and servicing of manufacturing equipment and process concerns
- Approve and guide the design and implementation of fixtures and tooling to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Develop and implement strategic plans for shop floor process optimization
- Ensure compliance with ISO specifications and internal standards
- Provide leadership in product development meetings and design reviews
- Facilitate Design and Process FMEAs and ensure effective risk management
Other
- BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Five to ten years of experience in a factory environment
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for all levels, internal and external
- Must be able to travel by air
- Occasional overseas travel for extended periods required
