Bluefors is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers to develop, sustain, and improve production processes that are efficient, cost-effective, and high quality. This role provides technical leadership, supports new product introductions, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. Partnering with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and R&D, the Manager ensures manufacturing performance, resolves production challenges, and advances process innovation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with process validation, workflow optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to maintain productivity, product quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and provide technical dispositions for non-conformances.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, process optimization, and equipment innovation.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency through workflow design, facility layout planning, and equipment utilization.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing issues.
- Research and integrate new technologies, tooling, and methods to support evolving production needs.
- Maintain and update manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routers, and process controls.
Other
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers to build skills, engagement, and professional growth.
- Manage performance, set priorities, and ensure consistency across engineering activities.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to ensure delivery schedules, capacity requirements, and manufacturing readiness are met.
- Partner with Procurement and Quality to support supplier selection, qualification, and process validation.
- Work with Engineering, Sales, and Business Development to evaluate feasibility, cost, and manufacturability of new designs and proposals.
- Establish, track, and report on key metrics for manufacturing engineering deliverables to support planning and decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or related field; minimum of three years' experience in manufacturing engineering with at least one year in a leadership or supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering is preferred.
