The Building Construction Products division at Caterpillar is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop a diverse team to safely achieve quality, velocity, and cost goals for the CTL manufacturing lines at the Sanford, NC facility.
Requirements
- Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
- Manufacturing Application Systems: Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
- Working knowledge of standard assembly tools and their applications
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in support of the CTL manufacturing lines.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.
- Manage and lead a team of high performing Engineers and Process Planners to design an efficient process to safely build CTLs per the industry demand signal.
- Support the CTL value stream with standard work, detailed work instructions, manufacturing processes and manufacturing execution systems.
- Manage short-term and long-term projects for the CTL assembly value stream.

- Collaborate with key stakeholders in Safety, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, Fabrications, Logistics and Operations to safely optimize the end-to-end value chain to grow operating profit in the markets we serve.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-velocity manufacturing environment.
- Prior Supervision experience.
- Work experience with the NPI cycle.
