General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Autonomous Robotic Center (ARC) Advanced Manufacturing team to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and assembly methods for high-quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or robotics
  • 2+ years of professional experience working with CAD, VisMockUp, and TeamCenter or equivalent
  • Understanding of power requirements, circuitry, sensors, and control units
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with 2D/3D LiDAR, stereographic vision systems, and odometry/localization technologies
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and performing hands-on wiring for sensors and embedded systems in manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with Safety Rated Controls systems and advanced material handling automation

Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient manufacturing processes for ARC products
  • Evaluate designs against the Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Operations (BOO) to streamline production workflows
  • Conduct virtual builds, and participate in PFMEA workshops to validate manufacturability and safety
  • Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements and drive common processes
  • Ability to identify issues requiring escalation and communicating to leadership possible solutions or risks
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Support prototype builds and participates in peer reviews for design improvements and compliance to manufacturing requirements

  • Onsite - This role requires you to be onsite on a full-time basis.
  • This role requires travel between 25% - 75% to local manufacturing sites, as well as other sites within the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional improvement projects
  • Manage project timing, resources, budgets, and reporting (scorecards, one-pagers, meeting minutes)
