BWXT is looking to solve manufacturing engineering problems in a nuclear environment through the development and delivery of unique solutions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited mechanical engineering program
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture
- Adept with Scheduling Software Programs
- Coursework in Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and/or Solid Modeling (preferred)
- US citizenship with no dual citizenship
- Familiarity with manufacturing process plans and contract technical requirements
Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer
- Development and support of manufacturing process plans in accordance with contract technical requirements
- Ensures all design and quality requirements are satisfied
- Identifies facility and tooling requirements, manufacturing methods and /or develops new manufacturing methods
- Monitors performance and controls costs of manufacture
- Prepares technical procedures and documents
- Resolves any problems encountered during manufacture
Other
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Sophomore standing or above at the time the internship begins
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work with multiple disciplines
- US citizenship with no dual citizenship
